The STMS Education Committee, directed by Neeru Jayanthi, announced that the “2013 STMS – Connor Sport Court Grant”was awarded to Caroline Martin and colleagues Richard Kulpa, Benoit Bideau, Eric Tiberghien, Mickaël Ropars, and Paul Delamarche.
Caroline Martin has a Master of Research degree and she is a PhD student at the Rennes University, Bruz, France. She has published several studies about the serve biomechanics in international peer-reviewed journals.
Caroline´s group has submitted an interesting project entitled “Effects of Muscular Fatigue on Biomechanics of Serve and Risks of Overuse Injuries during Prolonged Tennis Matches”. The proposal was reviewed and approved by the STMS Board; Mrs. Martin has accepted all regulations for the Grant and she was awarded as recipient of 2,500 us$ for research costs (which specifically excludes any stipends for the recipients).
Connor Sport Court ® has made a strong commitment to promote Tennis Medicine and Safety by supporting a Grant Program together with the Society for Tennis Medicine and Science, “the leader organization in Tennis Science since 1991”.
